Heads Up

It doesn’t take complex rocket science
To marvel at the brain as an appliance
It’s amazing how much skill, joy and fear
Can come from a little pink hemisphere
A small component part that shapes our whole
That drives our heart and determines our soul
But sometimes to our utter frustration
Gremlins creep in to upset the equation
And when E=MC squared is F’d about
We need another brain to help work it out
Not through complex surgical operations
But through quiet reflection and realisations
By getting hidden feelings out onto a shelf
To see them for real and start helping yourself
It won’t stop odd thoughts but it can give them a steer
And help you appreciate why you are here
Sometimes it can knock you down with a feather
How one brain can reboot when two heads are together
So even if you think that your head’s in a state
Just find a brain buddy and you’ll re-calibrate
Because for every rogue strand that knots up your mind
There’s a true kindred spirit that will help you unwind
So you’re newly refreshed as your old self again
And getting some sense from your silly old brain
